The evening was the time of the official opening and the occasional ceremony. Mrs Mariya GABRIEL opened the official EWoS and Mr Janez JANŠA (Prime Minister of Slovenia) the Slovenian holiday. The dinner that followed was a moment for pleasant conversations and exchange of reflections and impressions from the central day of European sports
A visit to the nearby, where the upper floor holds a special exhibition of the history of Slovenian sports with a show of their Olympic achievements. The afternoon was in the light of launching the new 2-year campaign #HealthyLifestyle4All – merging the sport sector for the WHO, other health organisations and various nutrition entities. Pledges where made by the present participants and by video calls from sport dignitaries such as Thomas BACH and Gianni INFANTINO. Spyros CAPRALOS (EOC) made the pledge in person, as well as Witold BANKA (WADA President). An emotional presentation was made by the EC Ambassador Jorge PINA.

Children enjoyed many of the sports, one of which was especially interesting was canoeing. The moto of this EWoS was “JOY, RESILIENCE and INTERGENERATIONAL” – as was shown with physical programmes for the elderly. A curiosity was that the EMCA representative participated in the winning tea m between competing 5 teams – promoting our Olympic ideals in this joyful manner.
